Fernando Gazel M.

Fernando Gazel Mendiola was born and raised in Costa Rica.  Fernando grew up in San José, but his love for nature eventually brought him to the Costa Ballena in the Southern Zone over 7 years ago. Since then, Tinamastes, Platanillo, Playa Hermosa and Ballena have all been home at different points in his life.

Fernando studied Advertising at Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, followed by postgraduate studies in Creative Writing and Art Direction at Escuela Superior de Creativos Publicitarios in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He later received a scholarship to study photography in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, where he lived for 3 years. Fernando’s professional background in creative direction, branding and marketing, plus photography bring a natural synergy to his work in real estate.

As an avid surfer Fernando has explored much of Costa Rica’s South Pacific coast, giving him the chance to explore its beaches, communities, roads and hidden corners, and to really get to know the area beyond the places you find on a map.

Fernando enjoys looking beyond the property itself and understanding what makes a place unique, from its surroundings to potential lifestyle it offers. After more than 7 years of living, exploring, and building a life in the South Pacific, Fernando has a genuine connection to this part of Costa Rica and the perspective that comes from calling it home.
